What is Success? And How to Become Successful. – Why do people succeed? Is it because they are smart? Came from the rich family? Lucky? Neither.
You might come here in searching for the word “success”. I know it’s a pretty dumb question, I mean as if we are not sure what we are doing, or what the purpose from what we were doing. Will I ever make this big? or I am gonna failing from this one too? If you run a business and didn’t even know what is “success”, well, come on. What did you do? So what makes the business run? Business need a planning, decisions, timing, and luck. It requires more than that actually, but it’s the main point, so you might want to know what is success, right? Okay, but before that, here’s my little adventure about my life.
So, this is a some short story about my life. When I was about 23 years old, I left a very great job as an financial consulting for no reason. I were even asked to stay by the boss with more salary, I refused. I must admit that I got a very childish thoughts. I didn’t think about my future, I didn’t make a plan, I made a very bad decisions, the reason? Because I don’t like my colleagues. I am so stupid, I knew it. But still, am I fail? No. Will I ever be a success carrier woman? Why not? I am 24, but whether you are 30 or 40, you can still be a successful carrier woman, ages is just a number, what makes it become a limit from someone become success? If I see myself success at 30, does it great? Of course it’s great! What if 40? Of course it’s great! What does it matter? Don’t compare yourself with others, because you life your live, and so were they. It’s useless to make a comparison between yourself to others.
So, what should you do to become success?
What is perseverant? Perseverant is something like persistent in doing something despite difficulty; unwavering. Stay consistent, believe what you did until now will be great. Despite of all your failure, you will find your own way to success.
“Would you like me to give you a formula for success? It’s quite simple, really: Double your rate of failure. You are thinking of failure as the enemy of success. But it isn’t at all. You can be discouraged by failure or you can learn from it, so go ahead and make mistakes. Make all you can. Because remember that’s where you will find success.” — Thomas J. Watson
Stay curious and creative
Lets just say you run a t-shirt retail shop, but your competitor is so much it can’t be count. What will you do? Make a rainbow-color t-shirt, or a picture printed in your t-shirt. People might want your eye-catching shirt more than any colorless shirt. Be creative!
Become an expert
Simple. If you don’t even understand the details of your own business, you are going to fail.
Okay, still on your t-shirt retail shop, what will you do to make your shop bigger? Learn. Learn to become an expert. If you still a third-party reseller, try and learn to be the direct seller. Take the risks, learn to be the distributor. Too many people don’t do great in life because they are too afraid of taking the necessary steps to achieve the success itself.
Think outside the box
Thinking outside the box is a very common sentence, but did you even knew the meaning inside it? See this example.
A guy was once asked a very tricky question during a job interview “You’re Driving in your car on a STORMY day. You pass by a bus stop, and see THREE people waiting there. The first is the perfect woman of your DREAMS; The Second is an old friend who once SAVED your life; and the third is a lonely OLD lady who looks really SICK; If you had only one seat in your car…. Who would you offer a ride to ? Let’s think about it…. Do you pick up the old woman because she is in critical condition and you should save her first? … Do you take the old Friend ? because he once saved your life and this would be a perfect opportunity for you to pay him back?…. However, both choices leave you missing out on the woman of your DREAMS….
BUT HE SIMPLY ANSWERED; “I would give the car keys to my old friend, let him drive the old lady to the hospital, and stay behind to wait for the bus with the woman of my dreams.” This answer made me STUNNED. It Completely changed my outlook….and reminded me to Think outside the box.
